Description
If you’ve got an old 8N that’s been sitting in the barn or you’re restoring one back to working condition, you know that air cleaner is probably one of the first things that needs attention. These old Ford N-series tractors used an oil bath system to keep dust and dirt from getting into that trusty flathead engine, and when it’s working right, it does a fantastic job of keeping your engine breathing clean air even in the dustiest conditions.

Built for Real Farm Work
This air cleaner was designed specifically for Ford 8N tractors from 1948 through 1952. These workhorse tractors were used for everything from plowing and cultivating to brush hogging and loader work. The oil bath system was perfect for the dusty conditions these tractors faced day in and day out on farms across the country.
Made to Last
The oil bath design is simple and effective – air comes in through the top, gets swirled around in the oil reservoir to catch dirt and debris, then passes through a mesh element for final filtering. It’s a proven system that worked for decades and still works great today when properly maintained.
Installation Notes
This assembly mounts right where your original air cleaner was located. Make sure to use the proper grade of engine oil in the reservoir and check it regularly – dirty oil won’t clean your air properly. Clean the oil reservoir and replace the oil every few months or when it gets thick with accumulated dirt.
