Description
When winter temperatures turn your reliable diesel tractor into a cranking, stubborn mule that just won’t fire up, worn-out heater plugs are usually the culprit keeping you from getting to the field when daylight matters most. This heater plug provides the pre-heat your diesel engine needs to fire up reliably in cold weather, heating the combustion chamber so your engine starts quickly instead of cranking endlessly while you’re burning daylight and wearing out your starter.
What You’re Getting
- Provides the extra heat needed to warm the combustion chamber and make cold diesel fuel ignite reliably
- Reduces cranking time that wears out starters and batteries during cold weather starts
- Quality construction ensures the plug heats up quickly and maintains proper temperature for reliable starting
- Direct replacement – no modifications needed for proper installation
Built for Real Farm Work
This heater plug fits the classic Ford Dexta and Super Dexta models along with Major series tractors—those reliable workhorses from the 1950s and 60s that are still earning their keep around farms today. These compact utility tractors are perfect for feeding livestock, hauling hay, running a brush hog, or handling chores where you need something nimble and dependable. It also fits various Fiat tractors including Someca, Classique, and Chenillard series models that handle everything from field work to powering vintage equipment.
Made to Last
The robust design handles the thermal cycling and harsh conditions that come with farm equipment operation. Whether you’re maintaining vintage tractors that still earn their keep around the farm or keeping backup equipment ready for emergency use, these heater plugs provide the starting assistance that makes the difference between productive mornings and frustrating delays.
Installation Notes
Before installing, clean the cylinder head threads thoroughly and check for any damage that could prevent proper sealing. A little anti-seize compound on the threads prevents the plug from seizing in the head, making future removal much easier. Don’t overtighten—snug is good enough. Test the plug’s operation after installation to make sure it’s heating properly before you need it on that first cold morning.
