Installation Notes
Before installing, fill the new filter about a third full with clean oil to prevent dry startup. Apply a thin film of oil to the gasket, then hand-tighten until the gasket contacts the mounting surface plus an additional three-quarters turn. Over-tightening damages the gasket and makes future removal a real chore. Always change the filter with every oil change—it’s cheap insurance for an expensive engine.
