Description
When your disc harrow starts making that grinding noise that makes you cringe, it’s time for new bearings. This greasable disc bearing keeps your tillage equipment cutting through residue smoothly instead of bouncing across the field. This riveted flange disc bearing with a 1-1/2 inch round bore replaces Krause 40-157, Kewanee B3587, Brillion 1K521, and McFarlane RD-4498.
What You’re Getting
- Greasable design lets you maintain proper lubrication for longer bearing life
- Riveted flange construction handles the side loads and impacts that come with disc work
- 1-1/2 inch round bore for precise fit on your gang axles
- Built to handle the severe loads disc bearings face in tough field conditions
Built for Disc Harrow Work
This bearing is designed for Krause disc harrows that handle tough field conditions – cutting through corn stalks, incorporating residue, and preparing seedbeds. Disc gangs take tremendous abuse, especially in rocky soils or when working heavy residue, and bearing failure means uneven tillage and increased fuel consumption.
Made to Last
The bearing is designed specifically for disc applications, with superior sealing to keep dirt out and grease in. The riveted flange construction is built heavy to handle the constant vibration and side loads that destroy lighter bearings in field conditions.
Installation Notes
When installing, pack the bearing with quality disc bearing grease, not general purpose grease. While you have the gang apart, inspect all bearings on that shaft since they typically wear at similar rates. Check the axle for wear grooves where the bearing rides – a grooved shaft will quickly destroy your new bearing.
