Description
Nothing ruins a morning in the field like a tractor that won’t start or starts running rough halfway through a job. Farm fuel doesn’t always come from the cleanest sources, and moisture condensation in fuel tanks creates problems over time. A clogged or failing fuel filter can cause rough running, power loss, hard starting, and even complete engine shutdown in the middle of critical farm work. This complete assembly takes care of both filtering and priming in one package, so you can get clean fuel to your engine and bleed the system easily after service.
What You’re Getting
- Complete assembly with both filter element and hand primer pump built right in – no hunting for separate parts
- High-efficiency filtration that catches water, dirt, and debris before they can damage your injection system
- Built-in primer pump makes bleeding the system quick and easy after filter changes or fuel system work
- Clear housing lets you see when contamination is building up so you can plan your next filter change
- Direct bolt-in replacement that fits just like the original – no modifications needed
Built for Real Farm Work
The Ford New Holland 40 series represents a comprehensive range of versatile agricultural tractors designed for diverse farming operations during the 1990s era. The 5640 model provides reliable mid-range power for mixed farming applications, while the 6640 delivers enhanced performance for larger operations. The 7740 and 7840 tractors offer robust capabilities for intensive crop cultivation and heavy field work, with the 8240 and 8340 models providing maximum power for demanding agricultural operations including heavy tillage, large-scale planting, and high-capacity harvesting. Whether you’re running a loader, pulling implements, or doing daily chores, this filter assembly keeps your fuel system running clean.
Made to Last
This assembly is built to handle the vibration, temperature swings, and dusty conditions that come with farm work. The filter media provides excellent water separation – critical for diesel engines – while the primer pump housing is designed to take the abuse of regular use without cracking or leaking.
Installation Notes
Installation is straightforward, but always relieve fuel system pressure before removing the old filter, and be ready to catch any fuel spillage. Keep the fuel system primed after installation to avoid air pockets. The hand primer makes bleeding air out of the lines much easier than trying to crank the engine to get fuel flowing. After installation, pump the primer until you get solid fuel flow, then you’re ready to fire up and get back to work.
