Description
When your John Deere’s three-cylinder diesel starts burning oil, losing compression, or just doesn’t have the power it used to, this basic overhaul kit gets you back to reliable operation. It’s everything you need for a solid rebuild except the bearings—perfect if you want to inspect and reuse your existing bearings or source them separately.
What You’re Getting
- Cast iron sleeves and sleeve seals that restore proper bore dimensions and compression
- Three-ring pistons with pins, retainers, and bushings built for diesel durability
- Complete gasket set with crankshaft seals—no need to hunt down individual pieces
- Quality components that match original equipment specifications
- Everything packaged together for a straightforward rebuild project
Built for Real Farm Work
This kit fits the workhorses of many smaller operations—the 2040, 2240, 2150, and 2255 series tractors that handle everything from hay work to loader duty. These three-cylinder diesels are known for their reliability when properly maintained, and this kit gives you the core components to bring yours back to factory standards.
Made to Last
Tru-Power builds these kits to handle the demands of diesel operation—high compression, constant temperature cycles, and the vibration that comes with three-cylinder engines. The cast sleeves provide a fresh bore surface, while the three-ring piston design gives you good oil control and compression seal.
Good to Know
This is a basic kit, so you’ll need to source rod and main bearings separately if yours need replacement. Check your rod bolt length before ordering—you’ll need to add either TP-R74194 bolts for 2.125-inch length or TP-R80033 for 2.325-inch depending on your engine. Have your machine shop check the block deck and crank journals while you’ve got things apart.
