Description
When your disc harrow starts pushing corn stalks and soybean residue around instead of cutting it up, it’s time for fresh blades that’ll actually slice through the mess. This 20-inch notched disc blade brings aggressive cutting action back to your harrow, turning tough residue into properly sized pieces that’ll break down over winter instead of hair-pinning around your planter come spring.
What You’re Getting
- Notched edge design creates a scissor action that cuts through tough stalks other blades just bend over
- 7-gauge Boron 15B26 steel construction handles the bumps and rocks of real field work
- Combo hole fits both round and square mounting systems for maximum versatility
- Standard 1.88-inch concavity provides proper soil mixing without excessive draft
- 46-52 Rockwell hardness holds a sharp edge season after season
Built for Real Farm Work
This blade fits disc harrows with 1 square by 1-1/8 square axle systems – common on many mid-size units used for corn and soybean ground. Notched blades excel in heavy residue but can be too aggressive in light soils or minimal trash conditions. Perfect for working corn stalks, bean stubble, and other crop residue that needs aggressive cutting action.
Made to Last
The Boron steel construction resists chipping and holds its edge longer than standard carbon steel blades. At 4.5mm thickness, it’s built for the kind of work that breaks lesser blades – rocks, roots, and everything else that hides in your fields. The heat-treated edge stays sharp through thousands of acres.
Good to Know
Installation is straightforward with the combo hole design that accommodates different axle configurations. Many operators run notched blades on front gangs for cutting, smooth on rear for finishing. When replacing, never mix worn and new blades on the same gang – the diameter difference creates uneven cutting. Check your spool spacing while you’re at it, as notched blades sometimes need slightly different spacing than smooth ones.
